Leeds Carnegie was able to tame the Glasgow Wildcats this afternoon in Glasgow defeating them 36-51.
A steady start by both teams giving us a game to watch. Leeds, by the end of the second quarter were able to take control of the lead and start to move away from a competitive Glasgow Wildcat outfit to build their score.
Leeds took the third quarter convincingly which was credit to the combination Coach Anna Newell set to the task as she made no changes at half time. Glasgow Wildcats’ team re-shuffle played dividends as the move did not allow Glasgow to be re-enthused and impact the score line which had broken away from them.
The final score was 36-51 to Leeds Carnegie who diligently got on with their task at hand.
Leeds Carnegie Coach Anna Newell said after the match, ‘It was a dogged performance from Leeds. The Wildcats went out and challenged every quarter and we had to give 100% for the win. This prepares up well for our next game.’
Coach of Glasgow Wildcats remained positive following another consecutive loss when she said post match ‘"Really pleased with today’s performance as we managed to hit all of our targets, improving on our last game against Leeds.’
And Captain of Glasgow Wildcats added ‘Really proud of our performance today, we put into practice what we've been working on in training. Although a bit disappointed with our 3rd quarter start, we showed great determination and fight to achieve our targets.’
